Thanks Chris - I thought I was going to be included based on the first iteration of the SB, but the one you posted has a gap of about a hundred numbers that aren’t affected, and mine is one of those! Relieved………Only the version of the SB for certified engines has the list of serial numbers (both certified & non-certified). Attached below -- see the Appendix for the SNs.
The way the SB is worded, it sounds like the block, gearbox, etc. part numbers criterion only applies to engines that have had any of those parts previously replaced. Interpretation is a little murky.I read here
that you must check both engine serial number (Criterion A) and spare parts numbers (Criterion B) for block, gearbox / cover part numbers.
My engine serial number is not affected, but gearbox part number is.
Recommend everyone check the full compliance requirements.
Steve
The Appendix of the SB for certified versions includes the SNs for both certified and non-certified engines. Certified engines are designated with a lower case "c" in the model name (e.g. 912iSc). So if your engine is not on that list, you're clear. Thanks CTCole for posting the list. I guess we’ll all be waiting to see if Rotax puts up a list of non certified numbers.
Rotax does not help us by splitting the SB into certified and non-certified versions, and then listing the affected SNs only in the certified version -- but the list of affected engines does include non-certified engines. They could have made this more clear, for sure. This snip of the top of the list shows 2 non-certified engines, followed by 2 certified enginesI am in the same boat in regards to part numbers but as I read the SB:
_________________________________________________________________________________________________
Further, all engines are affected which have been equipped with the following part no.:
during engine repair, maintenance or general overhaul, delivered as spare parts from September 1st, 2023 up to November 30th, 2024 included.
- - 893246
- - 893249
- - 300091210
- - 300091501
- - 811954
- - 610362
- - 893341
- - 893346
- - 911988
- - 686790
- - 686810
- - 893868
- - 886078

The last line is critical as I have had no repair, maintenance or general overhaul. It was hard to catch as the last line is on the next page.
The non-certified SB refers to engine serial numbers in the certified SB and all of the serial numbers are for certified engines. So, I don't see any issues for non-certified engines that have not had anything done to them since delivery.
