New nose wheel strut axle angle

Am I mistaken, or did vans change the geometry of the nose wheel strut to reduce shimmy?? Looks like it to me.....and my new strut doesnt shimmy!

I never experienced nose wheel shimmy. However I am disappointed with the new front gear. The lower bend angle is greater than the original so now the strut fairing to wheel fairing clearance looks like someone with no pride in workmanship did the installation. I can rightfully be dinged now for the excessive gap.
