Hey all, sorry for this likely dumb question.... I have the new Vans/PHA-09 Flap motor to install. I was able to find this wiring diagram on another thread as Vans didn't ship the motor with any documentation.

What does the circled DPTP switch mean? is that just the switch on the stick for the flap up/down actuation. I'm assuming I don't need this "flap relay board".

Also, are there any instructions on how to calibrate the settings?? Its supposed to have an auto shutoff at the stops, right?

Thanks for any help on installing this.

Reach out to Pat Hatch...he is on the forums, and an advertiser. Pat is a long time friend and he developed the PH actuators and associated components. ..he will guide you through any questions. I'm not sure if you have chosen flap switch location, but on my RV-4, I installed momentary switches on my stick grip so there is no need to reach for a switch. Makes it nice to never have to let go of throttle or stick while operating flaps.

Yep, same. I have a switch on my stick for the flaps. I have to manually hold it down to move the flaps down and they will stop where ever I let go. It has a click up position and the flaps will retract on their own. My issue with the old motor is there was nothing to turn the motor off if you forget to move the switch back to neutral once they are up. I've forgotten an numerous occasions to click it back to neutral and the flap motor has been running for an extended period. It finally gave up and died.

I have the new PH flap motor PH-09 that I got from VANs because its supposed to have a cut toff after the flaps are up. But it came with ZERO documentation. So I don't know if that feature is automatic, or if its some setting I have to enable or calibrate.

For using it with a VPX we could skip the DPDT switch right? I have the new flap motor here and I'm slowly working through all the wiring on my plane. Mine also didn't come with a wiring diagram, now that I actually think of it.

Gemini came up with this, but we'd need to verify. This is for the PA-09 linear actuator.
