(Never Mind) Why shouldn't I rivet the seatback hinges to the baggage floor using solid rivets, before riveting the floor in place?

I don't see any reason I can't use solid rivets to fasten the F-01447B seatback hinges to the F-01447-L & -R baggage floors, before riveting the floors in place. The plans have you do it after the floors are riveted in, and you obviously use pulled rivets. It does not look like the rivets for the hinges go through any other structure. What am I missing?

Just curious - What do you see as an advantage for deviating from the plans and using solid rivets for this application?

Any time the plans call for pulled rivets, I smile and say "thank you"!

Also wondering if that floor had to be rolled slightly to get it into position and would the hinges cause a problem doing that ?

Never mind, I see why now. There is no structure below the floor which the hinges get riveted to, but there are two countersunk pulled rivets that hold the baggage floor in place, and those must go in before the hinges. If not, there will be an interference getting the countersunk rivets in.

That's the genius of the plans. Some folks at Vans spent a lot of time accounting for the details.
