Getting the dang LANE A fault light steady. Went to Oshkosh, talked to a few folks, got good advice, they suspect it could be a boot/resistor issue. I was told to unscrew them, check resistor ohms, may be trim a tiny bit from plug lead, screw them back together. I understand LANE A are the bottom plugs.
Any tips or tricks let me know. All the PLUG BOOTS I have used in past with P-Mag are automotive crimp type not screw in.
The plane did just have a Condition inspection and new plugs installed. The fault clears on the ground cycling the LANE A switch IN FLIGHT! (Rotax Guru at Rotax Central at Oshkosh).
The other suggestion is get G3X code when it happens in flight. Last and best get a SCAN using the Rotax Dongle and do it within 40 min of the event. Apparently all faults are kept indefinitely, but only last 45 min of flight conditions are kept. This helps analyze the condition. I think I will do the BOOT thing first. If the FAULT comes back, then have to enlist a locak A&P who maintains some RV-12iS at a local flight school. I know him. NOT MY PLANE... just helping.. Your help will be appreciated.
