need help finding tool

I am working on the RV-10 doors and need to thread two inches into the latch pins. The tap I have gets large after the threads end so will not thread a hole longer than about 3/4". I am using the after market stainless steel tips, so do want to get good threads. Where can I find a tap that gets small after the threads so I can get the 2" of threads required into the latch pin. I purchased one on Amazon that showed that in the picture but was not that in real life.
