Necessary Tools

Not sure why I'm doing it, but I used a similar tool and started collecting all the madrels in a can--I'm within a thousand rivets of being done, and have about five quarts of rivet mandrels to prove it. Its nice to have as an oooh--aaah factor for rubber-necked sightseers visiting the shop.

I started to do that, then thought what the heck do I need that many mandrels for. Besides, it would remind me of the hours and hours I spent pulling them out of the rivets. Kind of boring work after a while.
They must have miscounted my boxes, I am only supposed to have 12,500 of them, but I feel sure I have put more than that in the plane, and STILL the box is half full!

agreed

I would pick them up every day. When building the Murphy Rebel I recall a couple of those "nails" working their way to the bottom of my shoe..:(
