Mystery platenuts

On the legacy RV12, does anyone know what the two platenuts on the bottom flange of the centre instrument panel are for. On page 29A-09, fig 1, it shows two K1000-06 platenuts fitted to the F-00044. I can’t find any other reference regarding their purpose.

Apparently a shared part with other kits. Still seems odd to me that the KIA had us install them.

Handy nutplates for whatever - I put a cellphone bag there; then a plate to hold notes. Maybe you could hang a coffee holder there?

Would be a bear to put the nutplates in after the build is complete. Just follow the plans.
