My new Prop is In !!!

My new Hartzell with 8301 composite blades is a piece of art. I had to do a test fit out of the box.

Next up is spinner on, and then trimming the engine cowls.

New Prop

WOW I like that prop. I am very interested in what it set you back.

Is that a 15" Spinner. I am planning on the Show Plane Custom cowl and induction system. So I will need a 15" Spinner.

Please PM me with where you got the prop and what it set you back with spinner if you would please.

Composite prop

I purchased the prop and spinner through Van's. The prop was just under 12.5K and the spinner from Hartzell was like $1800.00. I'll have to measure the spinner diameter when I get back to the hangar (I hope I can use the factory cowls with this spinner. I didn't check that, but I know I wanted this prop.) I talked to one of the Hartzell engineers and he said that high compression pistons, and EI are not a problem with this prop. There are also no RPM restrictions.

I thought you had the 7605 composite blades? What is the difference between the two in performance?
