Has anyone mounted a G5 in the backseat of an RV-8?? If so, can you share pics, info on how you mounted it, how you wired it in, etc.

I currently have a full Garmin panel up front.... G3X, G5 backup, Garmin radios, Audio panel, AP, etc. I'd like to add a G5 to the back to be able to give the back seat pax/pilot some SA and allow them to fly from the back as well. I have a buddy that did that in his RV-4 and its pretty slick.

I assume I would have to wire a Magnetometer and Pitot/static to the G5 unit in the back. Or is there anyway to just "slave" it to the one in front to be a repeater rather than act as a standalone backup?

You can have it be stand alone but it would be GPS airspeed, heading and altitude. I ran pitot and static lines as as well as CANBUS to wire it in together.
