I'm purchasing an RV-12 to fly around while I finish up my RV-14.
My rationale is that it the operating costs are cheap and my son can do his initial training in it. It doesn't hurt that I can pull the wings and store it in the hangar as the -14 I'm building takes shape!
I will need to find a local CFI who could travel to Pearland (KLVJ) to do the training (initially just a Sport Pilot.. he will likely fly that for a while and then go for his full Private so he can fly the -14!).
Insurance requires 750 total hours and 25 in type for non-named pilots.
Any leads will be appreciated! Email is better than PM.
