Left air ramp RV7 IO360A1B6

Chewbert

I'm New Here
Dear all, I need to replace the fwd left air ramp on the installation of my RV7 with IO360 A1B6, I am having difficulty finding the part number of the part indicated by the arrows in the attached photo. To clarify, this is the air ramp which then needs to be cut to make room for the air filter.
Best
Andrea

I found this
It has a list of parts included in the kit.

I can't see the drawing for the 360 Angle valve baffles.

It might be this CB8-2 ???

For the parallel valve it is CB-1002A.
I got this from drawing OP-40 "0-360 Cowl Baffle"

You should be able to download drawings if your kit is associated with your on line account at Vansaircraft.com

Under your user name, select "My Aircraft" and the plans should be listed under there

Why do you need to replace it??

Can you use the old one as a template/pattern to make a new one?

I just went through this as the RV8 I bought is kind of messy where the air filter is located. There's alot of small parts that make up that area for the fuel injected engines- but most of the threads I've read, builders are making the ramp / filter housing differently than the pencil drawn plans. I bought the CB 1002A which is the uncut version (I assume for the carb'd engines) and plan on modifying my fiberglass plenum and cutting the CB 1002A to fit. If I can stop flying long enough to take the cowlings off. :)

I have many doubts because there are no images of the piece and in that detail, the instructions are quite generic and leave ample room for personal interpretation. The part you show, that I found, looks little different and in the draw. In the next days I will remove the broken parts and I will do a double check. Thank you!!!

During the construction, due to an error in the length of the spinner, I mounted the engine cowl slightly further back and so that aluminum sheet was also cut more than was necessary and so it broke in one corner, I repaired it but it broke again and so I prefer to change it. I will soon dismantle it and reproduce it with a slightly thicker sheet of aluminum

Same problem on this side :) 100 hrs in 8 months :)
