Landing light retro fit

Does anyone know if the Whelen LED Parmetheus Plus bulb will fit into the standard fixture on leading edge light on an RV-9A without modification?

The WAT Parmetheus Bulb is a PAR 36 bulb. It is a drop in replacement for GE 4509 bulb.

PAR 36 is a round, reflector style bulb (R - Reflector).

There is no "standard" for the landing light mounting kit in the RV series, you kinda need to work with what's already there. There is/was a popular kit from Duckworks aviation that supported the PAR 36, HID, etc. lights.

Edit -- here's an example of the landing light kit that was widely used -- http://www.duckworksav.com/LELightKits.html#LE LED Kits

Recommend updating with Fly LED Quad Spot Light from Fly Boy Accessories

I just updated the landing lights in a friends RV-9A with the Fly LED Quad spot light. If you have the Duck-Works light cut outs in the wing, the Fly LED Quad spot light will be a direct swap. Total amp draw was cut in half and the light output was significantly better than the original halogen lamps. If you have the Vans single halogen lamps (x 2) in the wing tips, they can be replaced with single Fly LED spot lights. Not sure one can beat the low cost and high performance of the Fly LEDs. Additionally, if you order from Fly Boy Accessories, you will be helping one of the great experimental aircraft support businesses we have.
