Landing light lenses

Morriem

I'm New Here
Any advice on installing the landing light lenses with the wings closed out. I've ground the edges almost to the lens mounting holes but cannot "pinch it" enough to insert it past the
landing light mounting brackets and the skin cutout. I'm leery of overheating it and distorting it, but I need to find a way to install/remove it to adjust the landing light itself.

You can actually give it a pretty good squeeze without harming it, especially if the ambient temperature is >80 degrees. I installed one of them before closing the wing (obviously easier), the other after closing the wing - harder, but can be accomplished without too much difficulty.

I removed and reinstalled both lenses after wing closeout, one to install a second landing light and the other to put some sealant between the lens and the wing skin. It's not difficult once you work out how to insert the lens so that the end clears the bracket.
