Landing Fees heads up FFZ and IWA

Just a heads up to RVs flying into FFZ Falcon Field or IWA Mesa Gateway starting May 1st there will be a @$24 per landing fee. If you are based at FFZ you get 10 "free" landings per month. I heard IWA is unlimited landings for based aircraft. Im hoping this doesn't start to spread across other airports!

Fully aware of FFZ fee's that start May 1st, but have NOT heard ANYTHING about fee's at IWA for transient GA planes, Google search does not turn up any ???

IWA just released this letter. They are probably doing it to keep the training ac from using IWA?

Organize all your buddies to do UAT anonymous mode T&Gs, or better yet missed approaches by the dozen, then tell vector to get bent.

AOPA is pushing state legislation to stop the use of ADSB to track airplanes for fees and such. Maybe notify AOPA.

I got a bill once. Had a long conversation with the FBO they didn't enjoy. My airplane didn't have wings yet. It was still in my garage. I was pretty hot.

FFZ is already gearing up to use videos/cameras since they know ADSB may soon not be an option. They will use a third party to provide info and do the billing. Here's the great part, they are aware this will reduce traffic hence reduce fees. So their solution raise the landing fees again to make up for the short fall. You can't make this stuff up. Trust me we put up a fight but lost to the folks that moved next to us and complained about the noise.

I'm sure you can find some loud planes to do full power missed approaches at minimums all day, and the county can do literally nothing to institute fees for that. Might make your instrument skills really sharp in the process.

I may want to do this if a certain uncontrolled local airport eventually implements landing fees. They have 3 approaches, one precision. Will be easier to get in without the pattern traffic, too.

I suggest any of the Cessna 185, 206, 210 family for the missed approaches. Those things just scream with the prop pushed in and full power. I can always tell when one of my neighbors takes off in one of these planes.
