Jacking up main wheels

27 years ago my son and I built a Longez and flew it for 1000 hours. It was a normal proceedure to lift up a main wheel by lifting the wing from the outboard end by hand. I am about ready to move my RV12 up to the airport and install the wings. Is this a bad idea to use on the RV12?

Hi John

You can lift on the end of a wing enough to get the wheel off the gorund on that side. If you want to keep it up for a while, you can put a padded saw horse or such under a rib seam and rest it on. The main spar is the lowest, so it will support it ok.
