ignition problem, iS

Long X-Country the other day. Smooth flight, about 2.5 hours in, I get a powerplant warning (Lane B) - "ignition Coil 4". I cycle lane B (the one with the warn light). Goes away for about 1.5 hours. Then it's back. Same routine, and it's gone, then back (4 times total)

No changes in engine performance / sound; no disturbance in engine parameters.

I checked plug wires and terminations from the #4 ignition coil, all tight and normal looking.

1) Any similar experience and resulting fix?
2) Anybody have a BUDS dongle that I can beg for a week or so?

Check the top spark plugs on 3 and 4 and associated connectors. Make sure the wire is firmly seated in the connector. They are easily dislodged during maintenance.

If those are good, you can try swapping ignition coils to see if it is starting to fail.

It is a pain but carefully check under your ignition coils for wire damage. Maybe a borescope or inspection mirror will get you there. If not you will need to remove the coils to take a close look.
