Ideas For Vertex Standard Walkie Talkie Mount/Cradle?

I’ve been flying my 9A for almost 13 years. I have my backup handheld “mounted” between the seats using Velcro. That has never worked well. I like it there because I have a power socket nearby in the baggage area and like to have it handy just in case. So it’s taken a while but I’m finally sick and tired of my hokey setup. I’ve looked for holders but I’ve found nothing.

I’m looking for out of the box ideas of how to mount the radio in this area. Maybe repurpose something? I’m thinking some sort of plastic cradle that I can slide the walkie talkie into. If all else fails I guess I can just jam it in my glove box but then where will I put my gloves?

My solution was to get the radio belt holster from Amazon and then mount it to the panel with 2 plate nuts. Used finishing washers through holes I made with a hot nail.

FYI you’ll need to cut off the belt loops on the back so it will lay flat on the panel.
