How to update the Dynon SkyView software, am I understanding correctly??

With the change in Van's support for updating the Dynon SkyView software in the RV-12 and some conflicting statements in their Rev 21 Read Me document, I am seeking to understand if I understand the needed steps correctly from those who have already completed this update.

Steps for Updating the Dynon SkyView software in my 912ULS RV-12
  • From Van’s website download the SkyView Settings file with the extension .dfg (currently 12_Rotax_912ULS_SkyView_Settings_06-24-24.dfg )
  • From the Dynon website download the updated Skyview software file with the extension .dup (currently SkyView-17.1.0.13527-dynon_update_HDX1100(1).dup ) and the EMS sensor definitions file with the extension .sfg ( currently sensor_245429.sfg )
  • Load these three files onto a 32 GB USB memory stick onto the top directory
  • Follow steps 3 through 7 and step 10 of the Van’s RV-12 SkyView READ-ME File Rev 21 to load these files into the SkyView display.
  • Starting with Step 49 of the Van’s RV-12 SkyView READ-ME File Rev 21 complete the installation, checks and documenting the files uploading into the aircraft logbook.

Am I understanding correctly? If not, what am I misunderstanding?

Anything else that I should be aware of?

Thanks.

Only one issue seems to show up.
The system doesn't restart.
Wait about 10 min. If it doesn't restart, press 1,2 & 5.

I hope this is helpful and I think this is what you are asking. This is how I update my HDX. You have already loaded the files onto the thumb drive. Put the thumb drive into the plane's USB. Turn on system, wait for it to boot up. Hold the two buttons down at the same time (I forget the button numbers, the ones on the lower right of the row). Hold them both down and the menu will pop up. Using the top right knob, scroll down to add files, push the top right knob to select. Load files. I recall a prompt comes up and asks are you sure you want to do this. Once it loads, on the bottom left knobs will highlight 'exit' or 'back'. If you 'exit' the system will shut done. If you go 'back' the system will return to the Home Screen.
