Just a random technical question for the group. I had to drop an exhaust pipe (long story) and noticed the curious locking nuts used to keep them on the engine. Can anyone explain what the slot does and/or how it holds tight?
It is a common Volkswagen exhaust nut. In fact when I needed one and it was going to take too long to order, I went to the local VW rebuilder and picked up a dozen, cheap compared to Rotax.
