How do you remove a riv-nut

The threads on a riv-nut have stripped. Just wondering if there is a time-tested removal method. Thanks!

They can be a pain to remove. I don't know if there is a
time-tested method, but what I have done is to use
needle nose pliers to hold it, and just drill it out. If
you just drill, it will eventually start rotating.

For various reasons, I've stopped using them unless
absolutely necessary.

Easiest method of removal is to simply grind off the head (or back side) with a dremel cutoff disk. Be careful not to damage the surrounding skin.
