Has anybody received their Beringer brake kit from Vans?

When I re-ordered my RV-14 fuselage kit in December I included the Beringer brake option. I picked up my fuselage kit in January and of course the brakes were backordered. I'm still waiting for them. Just curious if anybody has received their Beringer brakes from Vans since the bankruptcy.

Update: I contacted Vans on May 28th. Got a reply on June 3rd. I was told the Beringer brakes are still backordered but I'm the next person on the list.

Update #3 - Yep, still waiting for my brakes to arrive. Pretty bummed with these delays.

Removed the Beringer option from my finish kit order and instead placed an order for the separate kit on august 8th, hoping to get them before winter since my finish kit got pushed out to next summer.

Shipment delivered today.. those are some shiney wheels and brakes! I don't understand why I got them so quick but it happened..

That is strange but I'm glad you got them! Brakes have been part of the fuselage kit since last year. I ordered my fuselage kit with Beringer brakes more than a year ago (just a day or two after the announcement in spring 2023). Got the fuselage kit in January. I was told nearly three months ago that I was next on the list for brakes. Still waiting for them so I guess not :-(

Update #4 -
Vans didn't respond to my August 20th email asking about the status of my Beringer brakes so I sent another email. This time they replied and said "We are expecting a batch to be deliver(ed) towards the end of this month."

I sure hope they show up soon.

For anyone who finds themselves without a wheel/brake kit ordered yet due to the changeover from the finishing kit to the fuselage kit, we are a Beringer dealer and have been providing the complete Beringer wheel and brake kit for the RV14/14a for many years. Configurations include No Park Brake, Parking Brake only, or Parking brake and anti skid valves.

The lead time is currently up to about 3 months for the wheels/brakes with new orders and 3-4 weeks for the brake line kits.

In addition, at Oshkosh this year, we announced a new bracket for the Beringer PB valve. https://aircraftspecialty.com/BeringerPBBracket.html

This bracket is included with all complete kits purchased directly through us.

Finally, we have been working on a joint promotion with Beringer. Beringer has some stock of our pre built RV14 brake hose kits that were shipped to them a few years back. With the transition of Beringer supplying wheel/brake components directly to Vans and us supplying the complete brake line kits to Vans, Beringer is looking to reduce the inventory a bit on these brake line kits. These brake lines have never been opened/installed and have no shelf life.

For any builders wanting to order a complete wheel/brake package utilizing these lines, Beringer is going to include a Sensair system at no charge. (Normally $250 per wheel) So the promotion is worth $500 on a -14 and $750 on a 14a.

Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions.

Happy Building,
Steve

I'd take you up on this offer Steve if I hadn't already paid Vans in full for my Beringer brake kit last December. I'm starting to wonder if my brakes will show up this year. Not holding my breath at this point.

Final Update-

18 months after ordering and 10 months after paying for them - I finally received my Beringer brakes from Vans!!!! I have a couple more weeks worth of work on the wings and then I'll go back to the fuselage and get the brakes, rudder pedals, etc installed.

BTW, Vans was holding up my order so they could ship my backordered fuel pump (backordered in the fuselage kit since January) in the same shipment. They said they would ship the two separately if I would pay for the shipping on the fuel pump when it came in. I told them I already had an aftermarket fuel pump and didn't need the factory pump. He said he would cancel the fuel pump backorder. Hopefully I'll get a credit for it since they are over $1,000 now.
