I've had an intermittent weak audio from my 496 GPS that I think I have tracked down to the ground loop isolator. Has anybody else had this issue, and has anyone just removed it from the circuit? I'm curious if it is really needed or is it overkill?
I can get a commercial grade isolator locally for about $10. Since it is a noncritical application that sounds good, but eliminating it altogether sounds better.
