GNS430W Data Base Cards

I purchased a late model GNS430W from a reputable dealer. The unit will not accept ANY K prefix airports or U.S. Waypoints etc. The NAV data card does not say it is International but it must be. My question is this: Can I update/change the existing data card to United States or do I need a totally new card. The terrain and obstacle data base card must be International as well so same question on that.
Maybe our Garmin rep could respond...

Your "reputable dealer" should update your card (one time update) to whatever database you want as part of the sale price.
