GEA24 GAD29 GDL51 placement

It's a tight fit behind the RV8 panel for these three boxes:
GEA 24 Engine Instrument
GAD29 Arinc
GDL 51 XM weather

WIth the radio stack on the left (the GTN 650 is very deep), it's a tight fit for all three above boxes. Or is it?
Anybody out there come up with a clever solution? Any photos on how you solved the placement?

Thanks!

Have you considered that the XM is likely redundant if you have ADSB in? I don't have the XM, but I'm pretty happy with the weather products ADSB brings to the cockpit.

The GEA24 and GAD29 can be stacked with a little creativity, and the G3X panel is very thin.....

I'm thinking through the same things on my panel. Likely will have a 375 navigator/transponder/adsb all in one, and a separate nav/com radio, then a remote radio.

You are spot on that XM is redundant, however that redundancy is what I’m looking for in IFR where one tends to think in terms of backups. I also like the ability to see radar bases plus a guaranteed national weather when the only line of sight ground antennas are only broadcasting local weather.

Like you, I’m thinking of stacking- was looking for creative solutions people have come up with.

I built a stand-alone rack that stacks the GEA24, GAD29, and GDL39R together and sits directly behind two G5s on the right side of the instrument panel. The GDU is in the center and directly behind and slightly below it is a VPX Pro with a GTR20 stacked on top of it. A GMC307 autopilot control panel is mounted on top of the GDU.To the left of the GDU is a GMA245 stacked on top of a GTN 650. There’s also a GSU45 AHRS, an avionics ground bus, and a backup battery crammed in there.

With everything wired up, coupled with antenna coax, pitot-static lines, and service loops, I can barely get my hand in there. My thinking at the time was to minimize the length of the CAN bus and wiring runs to remotely mounted boxes figuring I wouldn’t have get in there very often. However, even with an avionics access panel in the forward cargo bin it’s a pain to work on.

I mounted them to the lower cross brace beneath the G3X with wiring harness plugs aimed towards my opening to the front baggage compartment drop down door.
