GMA 245 vs GMA 245R
We are extremely excited to announce two new additions to our family of audio panels for the experimental and LSA markets! The GMA 245 and GMA 245R hardware is identical with a few notable exceptions. The most obvious difference is the lack of panel mount controls on the GMA 245R. Both units have a USB charging port and can be integrated with G3X Touch. Since the GMA 245 has dedicated music and intercom volume knobs, there are also slight differences in the G3X Touch user interface which will be highlighted below. Other than these exceptions, all features highlighted in this posting can be universally applied to the GMA 245 and GMA 245R. Minimum advertised pricing (MAP):
GMA 245 - $1325
GMA 245R - $1199

GMA 245
The GMA 245 is a panel-mount audio panel with a rich set of convenient and simple-to-use controls, for standalone use or integrated with the G3X? Touch flight display. The panel-mount GMA 245 incorporates dedicated music and intercom volume control knobs, a backlit keypad and more. The Bluetooth-enabled audio panel boasts superior sound quality and an impressive list of additional features, such as advanced auto squelch, music bass boost, advanced equalizer settings, 3D Audio processing, wireless integration with the VIRB? XE action camera and more. While extremely powerful as a standalone audio panel, when interfaced to the G3X Touch flight display, more control is given for audio configuration and music distribution.
The G3X Touch user interface mimics traditional panel mount audio panel controls and status lights and allows the pilot to choose whether the panel mount GMA 245 controls or the G3X Touch controls will be used. The G3X Touch user interface unlocks additional functionality, but it?s hard to beat dedicated audio panel controls, especially when it has dedicated music and intercom volume controls. Once you experience the convenience and utility of being the pilot of an aircraft where you get to control your music volume independent of others, even if you are listening to the same music source, you will wonder why anyone ever designed an audio panel user interface any other way.
A full time display of the Audio button as well as MIC and COM selections is provided across the top of the display. Touching the dedicated MIC field will toggle both MIC and COM selections between Comm 1 and Comm 2 radio sources. Touching the dedicated COM field toggles monitoring of the inactive Comm on and off. Touching the Audio button brings up a touchscreen user interface with multiple tab selections. The first tab is Radios, which provides alternate control of COM and MIC selections as well as Nav and Speaker audio. It also provides access to a clearance recorder Play button that will provide up to 60 seconds of audio playback in case you miss a radio call. You can even skip back through older audio clips.
Touching the More Options? button gives you access to the three auxiliary audio inputs. The auxiliary audio input names can be customized based on the audio source if desired. Turning the Monitor Mute function on will mute the radio frequency that is currently being monitored if a call comes in on the active frequency.
From the Intercom tab, you can turn on and off the pilot and crew isolate functions which will be annunciated on the dedicated Audio button when active. The GMA 245 intercom is the next evolution of the GTR 20 and 200 series intercom which has set a very high standard for audio quality.
Touching the More Options? button from the Intercom tab, you can turn on and off the 3D Audio functionality as well as adjust which audio sources are muted when the radio is receiving.
