Garmin GTX "TRAFFIC ADS-B In traffic has failed."

Hi all,

Anyone getting this "TRAFFIC ADS-B In traffic has failed." message on GTN connected to GTX 35R, 45R, 335.... transponders?
Traffic information is inexistent most of the time, sometimes intermittent on the G3X and G3X shows CAS message "TRAFFIC FAIL" and "Not receiving data on ARINC 429 channel 1".

I've gone through software configurations over and over and today I will apply the latest SW update on my GTX45R... but no success so far.

I usually get this message when the GPS (GTN 650xi) doesn't have a position solution yet, thereby causing the GTX (GTX 345) to "fail".

The Arinc 429 error on the G3X is usually caused by the GAD 29 not being powered on, or the GTN not being on - usually see this if I am running the GTN in configuration mode -or- at the self test screen.

Given that, I would look carefully at the health/continuity of the interfaces to/from the GTX 45R (RS-232, HSDB).
I saw this on a Super Veloce that was having similar issues -- One of the pins that comprises the HSDB interface at the GTX 45R had worked it's way out of the D-sub.

The ARINC message on the G3X is caused by the G3X/GAD 29 not "seeing" the device configured on that channel. If it's intermittent I'd start looking at the connector at the GAD 29 and the GTN 750xi. The recommended configuration for the GAD 29, is to put the GPS(GTN) on ARINC channel 1 IN/OUT and the VOR/LOC/GS on ARINC channel 2 IN.
