Buy the aera 660 bare wires dock kit. Then run the bare wire kit blue wire (RS232 TX1) or orange wire (RS 232 TX2) to the AV-30 Pin 2 (RS 232 RX). Then in the aera 660 setup menu set the RS 232 mode to either "Aviation In/NMEA & VHF Out" or just "NMEA Out". You would select the first option "Aviation In/NMEA & VHF Out" if you were to parallel the same connection to a modern com radio to tune standby frequencies by tapping them on the aera screen. If you will be using a GDL 5X(r) data device then you could use the remaining serial channel to talk directly to that for a little more reliability than Bluetooth.
