Gap in Fuselage below seats

Not sure if I cut something the wrong length or this is standard but I have a .5x.5in gap about 10 inches in front of both main landing gear right on the corner of the fuselage.

I have covered it with really attractive tape, but didn't know if anyone had a nicer fix.

Nope - you did it right.

I filled the gap with flox, sanded then a thin bid of glass over the top, the micro to finish. After paint it is totally gone.

Thank you I have some work to do on my wheel pants and will fill it next time I have my epoxy out.
