I have just updated my panel. Gotten rid of a Dynon D10A, updated to a dual G5 setup. Just realizing I have no G meter anymore (D10 offered it) Does the G5 offer G meter anywhere. I can’t find that it does🙃
Old panel and new for clarification.
I do a lot of formation and gentlemen aero. Would be good to have a G meter.

Garmin G-5 NEVER had a G-meter function.

In the past, old guys like me used small mechanical G-meters and younger guys used the Flight Data Systems GT-50.
I would like an old mechanical one like I had flying C-130’s. Can’t seem to find one! I did see the GT-50 and Radiant offered at spruce. I’ll keep digging. Thanks for the replies. .

I have an analog "old school" G-meter. I'm truly not a fan of the digital high tech stuff, though I did add a G5 to my RV-4 because it pretty much gave me dual everything and I never had an artificial horizon in steam panel. My G-meter is right up in clear view next to the steam airspeed. My old man eyes (require readers in my possession) favor the steam gauges over the G5, but the G5 AF Horizon is fantastic even in the brightest sun. I dont rember the brand, but it wasn't that expensive 25 years ago.

I had a very simple mechanical G-meter on my missed RV-6. It was a vertical bar with a spring inside attached to a pointer that slides on a rod. I’d didn’t had high and low peak markers, but it was cheap, simple to read and good enough (at least for me) for gentleman acro.

The good thing about this gauge was that you could just double face tape it to the panel, between other instruments and you are good to go. Unfortunately I don’t think it is made anymore and I don’t remember the name of it either, but you could try to find a used one from other VAF members.

I will try to find a picture and post here later.

Love my Round-Dial panel with my (now 'ancient') Dynon D10A and mechanical G-meter. The AV-30 was a great addition and also has a G-meter! And a world of other useful information in a small package. You could put an AV-30 where your mechanical VSI (or VVI, it you have military flight time!) is. Nice new panel layout, by the way! Your CG must have shifted a foot! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Same dual G5 config (+G3X GDU 470 as MFD), and I installed an AV-20S multifunction instrument that includes a G meter. For me also serves as a last chance keep the blue up shall Garmin go on strike...
