g5 as sole source of altitude information to gtx 327

Hello,
I seem to get conflicting information on whether a G5, which I am installing, can feed altitude info to my GTX327 directly via the RS-232. Searching this subject, folks seem to have varying levels of success. Have any of you relied on the G5 alone as the sole source of altitude info for the 327?
I want to be sure before I pull my old encoder out.
Thanks!

Yes, dual G5 connected to my GNX375, works perfect, no additional encoder required.
Thanks. Some of the accounts I've read say that it only works on a 330 and above transponder. It's the 327 in particular I'm looking for information on. I'm supposed to get a call back from a Garmin tech today, so hopefully I'll know more soon.

I have dual G5’s and 327 xponder, all works great. G5’s are providing alt info to xponder. Install manual spells is out pretty good. It’s great to get rid of all the wires from the old school encoder

Thanks for the confirmation! Yes, gets rid of a rats nest of wires and a static line connection.
