G3X PFD Left Side/G3X MFD Right Side Physical Swap

To physically move screens from left to right, and right to left, what is involved in making the MFD, now on the left the PFD. Then booting up right side and making the PFD, the MFD.

Is it in the display settting for both, then the right side MFD, will pick up the VPX as before.

Are there deeper settings, or is it that simple?

I am just swapping L/R R/L placement for the G3X, since the right side MFD is not used as much, and I am just rotating stock, if you will. Also trying to troubleshoot static coms, that eventually clear after getting airborne. No changes have been made and coms have been flawless for 5 years.

Thanks,

There is a jumper in the connector for P4602 that sets the PFD/MFD configuration, and the configuration module is in P4602 connector bacshell on the PFD side ... so it should be just a unit swap, and the PFD will show up in the same place on the panel.

You can certainly swap screens but misc settings like data bar, map settings etc. that were set up for each screen won't follow, so it will take some doing to restore everything the way it was.

As a general rule, probably with a few minor exceptions:

Anything you can only change in config mode is stored in the config module, so won't be affected if you move or replace a display.

Anything you can only edit in normal mode is stored locally on the display, so user-accessible preferences may need to be tweaked, as Walt said.
