Front Wheel Rotation

I’ve got white paint marks on the tyres to facilitate lining up the valves with access holes in the outside of the wheel fairings when checking tyre pressures. (all three wheels) Works well, all good. When Flying formation an observant wing man clocked that my front nose wheel is constantly turning, not fast but constant. (could see the rotation because of the white paint mark) I’ve got the Beringer front wheel that is, gotta say, absolutely free of rolling resistance due to the bearings, balance etc. Apart from just letting it turn or taking the wheel fairing off, About the only solution I’ve come up with so far is to maybe fit a small linear actuator to put a SMALL amount of touching pressure on the tyre when flying. Has the fitting, and need of switching loom down the leg as negatives. ….. Anyone else see this phenomenon ? And if yes, any ideas on a low key solution.

Put Beringers SinceAir on your wheels and you’ll will only need to add air (hopefully nitrogen) once a year on condition inspection. Remove the white stripes and nobody will notice rotation as it will not make a difference.

I’d leave it be. Less drag if it is rolling in flight, even better on landing. Don’t overthink this one. No issue.

Some claim that they can feel an out-of-balance nose wheel when it rotates in flight. Perhaps so but otherwise a balanced nose wheel rotating in flight is a non-issue.
