Formation Briefing Card App

One of the biggest challenges our team can face at times is having accurate briefing cards for a flight that is not the typical 4 ship FFI. Sometimes people have to drop out last minute or show up last minute changing how many are in the flight. Another concern is during big formation changes are airplane paths crossing. This app helps with all those, and provides a quick way to make changes and validate.

Hope it helps other teams, and improves safety as well.

I just added ability to save roster locally. I can add the ability to save, but it will require logins/database which I am open to but also wanted to keep it easy to use, and not another login for us to remember. But I am open to that discussion for sure.

I found a way to save cards without a login, it will save to your browser but also create a code you can share with other team members to pull up your card.

There exists the possibility of creating a PWA and then running this natively on your iphone/ipad without having to mess with the app store, will work great if no external data store or api access needed (ie its a completely client side app). Essentially you host the app somewhere temporarily (there are free sites to do this), access it from the phone, save to home screen, and it's all cached locally. then you can use it even without internet access.

Next thing I noticed is the transition notes are limited to one line on the .pdf output.

for example and for those just getting into formation I created a sample typical Ffi training card. Code is FFI1

If you are new to formation it is very helpful to follow Ffi standards so that you can randomly fly with strangers and be safe and everybody is on the same page.

I keep making small tweaks to app but I am happy with current progress. Feel free to use abuse share it as I made it to help rv formation flying.
