And now for something (almost) completely different….

My little Subsonex JSX-2 is for sale. No, it’s not an RV….. but just like Mowgli in The Jungle Book, this airplane lived with RV’s its entire life, it wears the same paint job as its big, adopted sisters the “Valkyrie” and “Myst”, and it flies in the normal rotation of Valkyrie (RV-8), Mikey(RV-6) and Tsamsiyu(RV-3) – so he thinks he’s an RV as well!

VAF is for RV’s – I have always believed that. But Doug has created a huge community of people that love flying machines and he granted me permission to advertise the airplane here because, well…the Sonex forums and pages are populated by great people who think that $35K is an excessive amount to pay for an airplane – not exactly the place the potential jet drivers are going to go lurking. But VAF is a place for discerning aviators who are often looking for their next challenge and experience! If you have ever hankered for your own personal jet as your next aircraft – here it is, ready to fly.

Why Selling: This fun little airplane has given me a lot of enjoyment and a sense of achievement for the 220 hours I have flown it. There is no doubt that when you arrive at the fly-in breakfast as “the guy in the jet”, it gets attention. But I have lots of airplanes that need to be flown, and most of my Subsonex flights have become the same – so it is time to pass it on for someone else to enjoy (and build turbine time…). The engine just came back from its first overhaul (I have flown it twice since then to prove it out), so it is fresh and ready for years of flying.

This thing is about to make someone's dream come true.

Wish I had anywhere close to the kind of experience to take advantage of this little beast.

Good luck Paul!

If only it would get in and out of 1500'!

I guess I could install a catapult and arresting cables. Allas, CFO says NO!

How would one go about getting checked out in it?
Bob Carlton (Airshow pilot) used to be the contact for an LOA and then the Experimental Aircraft Authorization (E-AB equivalent of a Type Rating) - I’ll have to see if he is still the contact, or if someone else has set up to do it.
