Engine came out of an SLSA RV-12iS that broke free of its tie downs and flipped upside down in a windstorm. I purchased from the insurance company, the airframe is now being rebuilt by its new owner, and the avionics are going on to live a new life in a fellow VAFer’s RV-8 build here in NC. That leaves the engine. I’m asking $24,500, as-is, newly repaired, or best offer. It does include the AV-60007 RV-12iS Ignition Module, but no other airframe specific parts.
While the engine looked fairly good in the insurance photos, there proved to be pretty substantial inspection upon further inspection. In turn, I shipped it to the Rotax gurus at Lockwood with an open checkbook for repairs. About $12,000 later, and I wouldn’t hesitate to fly behind it. It ran well on their test stand, with was just taken off of it yesterday to get crated for shipping. They’re working on the logbook entry now, and I’ll certainly have before any sale. Of course, happy to share that with anyone interested.
Probably goes without saying, but it does have a fresh gearbox inspection (along with a factory new prop shaft… ouch!) and all 5yr hoses and other rubber items replaced.
