floatplane tank drain, see as option in plans index for RV15

Has anyone heard heard what this is or ordered this option? or is it just part of the wing Kit? I've never seen a specialized sump/tank drain on a float equipped aircraft.....

Something was mentioned briefly in the EAA Builders week 2026 during the Van's update at minute 43, but there is nothing in the Section 21 KAI that I can tell yet, nor have I seen anything else about the option unfortunately.

Thanks for pointing out that mention in the video. The only thing I could think it might have been is a lower fuel sump, possibly wasn't necesarry and was omitted.

On som planes the float configurations add additional fuel caps and sump drains that can be accessed while standing on the floats when the plane is in the water.
