Flap handle button issue

Hello,
I have a friend with a legacy -12. Twice now when he has actuated the flap handle, the button has shot out of the end of the flap handle when it goes into a detent. The spring is super strong and slams into the detent. I know that the strong spring has been an issue for some folks. Is the flap button assembly a press fit only into the flap handle or is it installed with Loctite or some other way? Obviously, the press fit it has now isn't sufficing. I currently don't have access to the KAI and I couldn't find this specific issue online. Any ideas appreciated.

Thank you,

Jack

There is a Van's Notification #15-10-01 that identifies a fix to reduce the spring force of the flap actuator button. Also, I suggest that you replace the old stepped-style button (if your older legacy RV-12 is so equipped) with the newer smooth-style button (#VA-110) to eliminate that pesky finger pinching action.

That stepped button on my 6A made me alter it way before the first drawing of the 12.
I also did the ramp on the flap (second notch) at the same time..... Both work great!
