First flight completed on a clear Florida morning at sunrise. Showplanes Fastback, Skydesigns Landing Gear, IO-360 with MT 3 blade constant speed, Flyboys Steering link and Condor Pneumatic Tire. Construction took 5 years and 2,900 hours logged.
My chase ship launched 5 minutes ahead and went up to 5,000’, next I made a max power takeoff and climb to 4,500’. The airplane flew wings level hands off. I completed slow flight with flap extension and retraction and then an easy descent home.
Takeoff and landing were extremely docile! Ground handling was easier than expected. I had about 35 hours of experience in RV-8/A, RV-6 and RV-7.
