*two days in a row…..last day of ’24 and first day of ’25.:ROFLMAO:

Not a cloud in the state today, so I took advantage. No plan. After takeoff I decided to turn left, then left again, then left again….and before I knew it I had flown around the DFW area. Two days in a row of flying the RV!!!! Me!!!!! Can you believe it? Me either….

The year is off to a good start. :)

Bridled up and ready to ride.

TCU on the left center (red roofs) and Funkytown on the right. in the middle in the distance KFTW, where I launch occasionally on side jobs.

Prickly bits near Cedar Hill that will smite you mightily.

Big D. Fair Park on the right (blue ferris wheel). I saw the Rolling Stones in the Cotton Bowl there Oct 31, 1981 (setlist). ZZ Top opened for the Stones and The Fabulous T-birds opened for ZZ Top. Just right of center you're looking down the centerline of 31R at Love Field (where I also do some side work).

Extra: A little searching came up with multiple pictures from the show. They wore primary colors, I'm guessing because the stadiums were so big.

FF screen grab post-flight. Digging the Aeronautical and Street View overlays these days. I like the lighter background now when flying in strong sunlight.Screenshot 2025-01-01 at 3.50.43 PM.png

What a Blessing to get to do this every now and then, and in such a wonderful piece of equipment.
So grateful for this community and wonderful hobby.

HAVE A WONDERFUL, HAPPY AND RV-FILLED 2025!!!!!!

Lucky! I’ve spent the last two days herding a 737 around the eastern US and to Cancún… boring! Would rather be in my RV. But, the Boeing pays better…

Lucky enough to give a few sightseeing flights these holidays.
Grandson Christmas day followed by my nephew and brother in law New Years day.
First flight yesterday was a bit hazy but by second flight it had cleared nicely.
Everyone enjoys seeing the Cape.
VAB building with launch pads in the background. Then Space Shuttle landing strip.

Those are big antenna towers, Doug, to fly around. And bad boy Vlad landing on an ice lake in a RV-9a, oh my. Always inspiring.

Flew mine on January 2nd. Beautiful day to fly.

Went to the Tom Stafford Air and Space Museum at Weatherford, OK. If you haven’t been there before (or it’s been a while) I highly recommend visiting. It’s a hidden jewel right on the airport (KOJA), affiliated with both the USAF and Smithsonian Air and Space museums. The FBO is super nice with low gas prices and will loan you a car to go eat lunch in Weatherford AND, if you fly in, will provide a free pass to tour the museum. What a deal!

Not an epic day for flying up on the North Pole with Margin VFR conditions...but I guess this can count as getting in the air on the first day of the year.
