Hi Gang,

Just wanted to give everyone some news on what's happening at Fairings-Etc.

1) We just released some nice little jewels for everyone's RV. The rudder cable fairings were just listed on the site and add a little carbon to any tail. They are super light, easy to install and just pretty (IMHO) - Rudder Cable Fairings

2) We have acquired new molds from Bonehead composites. They are not yet on the website but I would gladly take calls/emails on questions/orders etc.

- Racer wing tips (RV4/6/7/8)
- Cup holders for the main gear weldments (RV6/7/9)
- Arm Rest/Fire extinguisher (RV6/7/9)
- Various center consoles/chases running from the spar to the panel (RV6/7/9)
- 4" articulating NACA scoop
- Oxygen Bottle mount (size 10)
- Oil cooler scoop & shroud

3) Spinner: We have been looking to offer a Spinner and working on a P-51 Style spinner in both 12" & 13"

4) RV14 Parts: Upper & Lower gear leg intersecting fairings are being designed and will be offered very soon (Q2)

If you have a pain point or want a part made, let us know. We have mold making capabilities and can work with you to make your RV the way you want it.

As always, please check out the website for great deals on parts such as CROW harnesses, SkyBolt (5% off at the moment) and many more!

Thanks for all the support,
Dan

Ask and you shall receive! Here is a pic of the mold. It gives you a good idea of the look it will have.

The intent is to have them made out of forged carbon for strength/weight and no visible seam. But we can make them in fiberglass as well.

Hmm... tell us more about the wingtips...
Well, I can say they are very tight to the wing/protrude very slightly off the wing. Dan West flew them back in 2015 at reno. There was a kitplanes article about them awhile ago. Per Dan “Down low they help a lot,” says Dan, “up high not so much; it’s better to have wider-span tips. The density altitude here [Reno] is right on the edge. If it’s cool during qualifying then they help.”

Pics and more info at the link below. They will be available in fiberglass and Carbon.

When are you going to get an improved RV10 empennage fairing? Or a transition fairing on the cabin to tailcone?

Hi Doug, What I can say is, we are working on it now. It's a bit early to tell when we will have an item that's ready for primetime. I hope to have something ready by Q3 this year.

Thanks for keeping me on my toes. Feedback and direction from the collective is always appreciated.

I’m over in 3N6 and with the LongEZ. I’m interested in an intersection faring for my 6 with a 7 tail and A windshield and canopy fairings. If you need a plane to make a mold I’m at Old Bridge.
Let me know.
Kevin

Hey Kevin, feel free to give me a buzz/text. I will set you up. And having a muse to make a 6/7 canopy fairing would be great!

Regarding the carbon rudder cable fairings, how would you recommend they are attached? If they are riveted will there be any galvanic corrosion concerns? Are they available in glass also?

Our carbon fiber parts are 2ply carbon 1ply glass to reduce the chances of galvonic corrosion.

I can make them in fiberglass also if customers prefer it. Feel free to send an e-mail via the website or PM me.

For the cable fairings, I would recommend riveting or using proseal. I believe vans advises to use RTV or proseal to adhere their naca scoops. I would utilize the same mindset for these as they are minimal weight (~4.5grams each).

Any photos of the armrest/fire extinguisher part? Looking at moving my fire extinguisher as its currently mounted where an Inogen portable oxygen concentrator is slated to go.

This will work on all side by sides.

The item can be purchased on the website. $300. Should be there but could be inactive. IF you want one, shoot me an email on the website and I can shoot you an. Invoice.

I searched key word “arm rest” and nothing came up . I can dive into each category to try and find it. I got 2 other guys on the field that may be interested too. Do you have more info? Like, extinguisher size, etc as well as a couple installed pictures?

Hey Jeremy, looks like it was in draft. The part page is active and can be found in the fairings section or you can follow the link below.

The extinguisher is for the standard (smaller) H3R can (Model A344T)

SxS Armrest/Extinguisher Combo

Thanks,
