...or at least his VC-121A! I stopped during a test flight to get a photo of my RV in front of the Lewis Air Legends Constellation, which is finishing up some major maintenance and preparing to head to Oshkosh. As an airport kid who grew up playing in the shade of a derelict Connie, it was a neat experience to park my airplane next to one of the very few that are still flying.

Ouch!! And there I was a few years ago whining about Texas-OSH fuel burn in a T-28… heck, that only cost me a bit over $3k, round trip! I prefer the RV burn numbers, but, damn that Connie is cool!

Edit; found a couple of pics I took at an air show in Sacramento 2-3 years ago, including one of a sticky note on the flight engineer’s panel. Note the fuel burns listed…
