F-704A Flange Relief for WD-721

Hi all,
I'm currently working on the F-704 centre section and am looking ahead to try to catch any future me problems.
The Gotchas thread is a good read for this.
I'm wondering, on the relief for the lower flange on F-704A for the landing gear weldment, WD-721, is it worth doing this relief now, whilst I have the F-704A on the bench, or is it easy enough to do later?

I don't remember it, but it sounds too early if 704 is on the bench. That's a job you want as close as possible. I vaguely remember doing it with a Dremel very slowly. In fact, I don't remember loosing a rivet hole. I could look through my log if you want.

Thanks Larry, I've looked through your Log, which is really helpful, thanks.
I was just thinking that whilst it's on the bench it may be easier, but I may be overthinking this and it won't be hard to do later.

Just installed WD721 last week in my quick build. I would follow manual/directions on this one. Appears rather ominous but once you get the initial template marked and cut out it’s just check fit, slow steady dremel cuts, and repeat. Check the fit often and making minor small adjustments worked well for me.
I followed Wirejock’s plan of attack very slow and steady.
Very happy with the fit, but took some time.
Happy building!
