Engine percent power calculation

Anybody know how Garmin calculates % power in the G3X system? Dynon has a nice discussion but I can't seem to find any info in the Garmin pilot guide.

I can?t speak to Garmin, but other vendors use the horsepower chart data from your engine manual. I suspect Garmin May do something similar, since they have no idea which engine is in your aircraft.

I was wondering the same thing as well as how to display it on the 37x (G3X non-touch).

"Estimated engine power can be calculated for Lycoming and Continental engines, using inputs from RPM, Manifold pressure, and Fuel Flow sensors (All three are required for engine power calculations)."
