Elevator Trim Tab Skin

Hello All,

Working on my RV-14's elevator trim tab. I'm posting in the General Discussion forum because I'm not sure if the issue I'm having overs other RV models.

The leading edge of the top and bottom trim tab skins (.016") are joined by a Z-channel spar (Part #E-01405). The bottom skin is protrudes 5/8" beyond the spar, and is unsupported and flat. At present, the trim tab is cleco'd to the spar. Sighting down the skin, the edge is wavy. I ran a slight break on the edge, but that didn't have an effect. So, is this just the way it is, or are there methods to flatten this area of the skin out?

Thanks in advance.

The most important parts of any control surface is a straight trailing edge and no twist. If you got those 2 covered you’re good to go. Build on. Nice cleco covers btw!
