Electric flap actuator contacting fuselage floor

Mach-4

Member
Hello,

I?m completing the first condition inspection on my new to me RV-4. We have noticed that the EF-401 bar as part of the electric flap kit that was installed during the build is making contact with the fuselage floor, has anyone else has this issue after completion and found a fix to avoid further damage down the road?

Anti chaf

Part of mine was hitting the floor, not sure it is the same part as yours.
Just put down a section of anti chaf tape from fly boys that does the trick.

We had to fabricate a small sheet of aluminum with dimensions matching the exact footprint of the plastic bracket that holds the actuator housing. We placed the new material under the plastic bracket, this raised the end of the actuator and leverage arm just enough for it to stop making contact. We also put a piece of anti chafe tape on the floor, it will serve as an easy to read indicator during future CIs if something is going wrong again.
