Dynon Pitch trim inop after flight

N58116

I'm New Here
We have a 2018 ESLA 12 that stopped for the night at our airport. While overnight on the ramp, there were moderate rain showers. On departure the next day, Sunday Morning, trim was in the full up position. Owner came back and landed.

We have established that the servo is good, by utilizing a 9-volt battery on pins 4 &5 at the servo. There is no trim movement when control stick trim switch is activated.

After adjusting servo, the trim indicator on the Dynon display showed servo in a different position.

Any thought of a failure point?

Note: I do not have any drawings except what I can get from Vans website.

FWIW: I just completed a major CI at Lockwood including the upgraded Ray Allen trim motor SB. After four hours it stopped working. Spent all day yesterday troubleshooting. After talking to Lockwood, Van's, Dynon, and Ray Allen, it has been recommended (not by Van) to add a bypass trim switch as the plane is 10 y.o. and tied down. Too many expensive parts to start replacing and too many hours of tech time to chase down the bug. Not my first choice but it seems a few legacy planes boards are starting to break down and are adding work-arounds.

I converted to Ray Allen 2-speed trim controller back in 2017. Works beautifully. See....https://vansairforce.net/threads/modifications-that-you-have-made-to-your-rv-12-after-certification-e-lsa-only.64145/post-1202259 1747778503578.jpeg
