Dynon HDX AP controller backlighting

I am buying a Skyview HDX system to upgrade my Dynon D100 + AP74 EFIS and I have some doubts related to the autopilot controller.

For those with the Skyview HDX EFIS + dedicated autopilot controller, when you select a mode in the controller, does it change the color of the key backlighting to green or the only clue of the mode selected is on the EFIS display?

How important/easier is to have the dedicated controller for the autopilot instead of using the autopilot menu in the EFIS?

Is the autopilot as good as the Garmin autopilot ? What are the main differences you see?

The controller does not change colors. The indication on the EFIS is the only way to see the mode
