Door Handle Gear Width

I am fabricating a door mechanism to act as a center latch. Can anyone tell me what width the van's spur gears are in the door handle structure. I can't tell if they are 3/16" or 1/4", but guessing 3/16" I don't have my finishing kit yet.

Gear Dimensions

Larry, the toothed portion of the gear is 0.25" wide. The smaller diameter flange with the set screws is another 0.25" for a total of 0.5".
