Does this look right, or is the correct crank gear timing mark at the 5 o’clock position? Trying to help another RV owner by long distance.

I can't answer the question but I can provide a pic from my engine (AEIO-360-B1B) that I just helped build at Aero Sport Power. Hope it helps.

If those two faint dots on the cam gear are the timing marks, then it looks right to me. I’m used to a bit more definition on the marks though!

Yes. You can also look that up in the lycoming overhaul manual.

Well, the gear alignment in the photo was NOT correct. The faint 0 at the 5 o’clock mark, on the crank gear, turned out to be correct.
The engine now runs great.
